'NCIS: LAs' season 7 episode 5 spoilers: Michael Weatherly guest stars

Michael Weatherly guest stars as Tony DiNozzo on the Oct. 19 episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" Facebook/ NCIS

"NCIS" star Michael Weatherly is crossing over to "NCIS: Los Angeles" in a new episode which will see his character, Agent Tony DiNozzo, teaming up with the Los Angeles team to pursue an escaped prisoner.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Weatherly said that fans are in for an entertaining hour as DiNozzo gets help from the NCIS Los Angeles division to go after a prisoner who escapes custody on a flight.

"There's a hilarious conceit for my presence which is that this guy who is a witness to some scurrilous wrongdoing is being brought back from Singapore," the actor told the website. "He disappears and then we have to find him in L.A. He keeps disappearing."

In the promo video for the episode titled "Blame It on Rio," DiNozzo is seen on a video call with the team and is waving his badge at the camera.

When Eric asked who the man on the screen is, Hetty (Linda Hunt) replies,"DiNozzo."

DiNozzo is then seen strolling into the NCIS Los Angeles headquarters, and the team turns to him as he says, "So this is the secret lair of the West Coast Avengers," much to Sam's (LL Cool J) annoyance.

The clip also shows DiNozzo and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) teaming up against a bad guy as Deeks counts down for them to get out of their hiding place at the same time and they start shooting at the enemy. The prisoner is also seen cringing between the two agents, and he appears to be very fearful for his life.

And while Gibbs (Mark Harmon) won't be joining Tony in his mission in L.A., he passes on a subtle reminder as Hetty tells DiNozzo that Gibbs asked her to give him a message, and she slaps Tony upside the head.

"That was fun," said Tony.

See Tony DiNozzo on "NCIS" Los Angeles" on Monday, Oct. 19 at 10/9c on CBS.
