An anonymous man spread holiday cheer and $100 bills on Saturday in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

The mystery gentleman, who slightly resembled Santa Claus according to witnesses, walked into several businesses and gave $100 to each employee.

One lucky local business was Marylou's Coffee on Iyannough Road. Manager Victoria Grandy said that a man handed a stack of 15 envelopes to someone, and "Merry Christmas" was written on each one. Inside each envelope was a $100 bill.

Brittany Coy, an employee, said the stranger slightly resembled Santa. "He just came in wearing a cowboy hat, kind of looked like Santa Claus, the beard," she told CBS Boston.

"I literally had a girl almost break down in tears in how much excitement, because she really needed a hundred dollars," Coy continued. "People with children here, they're so excited because they have an extra hundred dollars for Christmas."

The generous man also gave money to another coffee shop's employees, as well as fast food establishments such as Burger King and Dunkin' Donuts.

"He just came in asked how many people were working here," Dunkin' Donuts employee Patrick Nee said. "I told him how many we had and he pulled out little envelopes, said there was a hundred dollars for each person in here and said make sure everybody got one."

Manager Kelly Hayden reported that the stranger refused a free cup of coffee in return, and said "It's the season for giving.

"He was kind of like an angel, honestly," Hayden told the Cape Cod Times. "I have goose bumps still."

Area workers are becoming familiar with the cash bonus during the holiday season.

"He's done this every year around Christmas time," Burger King employee Clorissa DeCosta Hicks explained. "Last year it was fifty dollars, this year it was a hundred dollars. He gives it to literally every single employee that's here."
