Hunting monsters have never been this high-definition (HD) before, as "Monster Hunter World" gets several new screenshots showcasing its HD locale.

Developer and publisher Capcom has released a new batch of in-game screens for their upcoming "Monster Hunter" flagship game. The said screenshots primarily feature the amenities and landmarks of the hub city Astrea, which is located in the game world where players can rest, train, buy new gear, and partake in some distractions.

Some of these distractions include gardening, made possible by the in-game Botanical Research Center. Here, players can not only grow plants but also trade in collected insects and mushrooms that can be used for crafting. As usual, gardening will require some patience as the plants do not grow or become ready for harvest outright. Thankfully, players can speed up the process by using fertilizers on them.

For those looking for ways to become efficient in taking down their gigantic prey, players can go to the Maka Alchemy facility to alter items by affixing skills to equipment and ornaments. Doing so, however, will require points gathered from completing missions, so players might want to make sure that they'll be using the upgraded items for a while.

Those seeking a respite from all the monster hunting will find peace in the player house, which can be customized and rearranged to the players' preferences. The house will also rank up as the player does and will have new services every time, which range from aesthetics to quality of life improvements. The house can not only support the players but also other organisms as well, so players will be able to release caught specimen during their adventures and have them roam the house and interact with others, essentially making the home a mini zoo.

New videos are also available for the upcoming game, though some of them are in Japanese. A lot of the said screenshots and videos, however, are not representative of the final version of the game, so things can still change before the official release of "Monster Hunter World."

The game is set to arrive on Jan 26, 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the PC version will have a later release.
