Matt Lauer, wife Annette Roque rid of wedding rings; Roque's dad 'feels betrayed'

A week after a shocking news that longtime "Today" show host Matt Lauer had been fired from the show after a sexual misconduct allegation had been publicized, he and his wife, Annette Roque, have both been spotted without their wedding bands.

Lauer was seen in Sag Harbor, New York, and photos circulating showed that he was not sporting his wedding ring. Roque was also seen around the place without the marriage band. This was the same time when Roque's father, Henri Roque, revealed that his daughter was not having any of it.

"I have no words for her husband. What he has done is bad. Everybody feels betrayed. She is not going to stay with him and work it out. They are not together trying to work it out," Henri told the Daily Mail. He also revealed that he felt "betrayed."

Meanwhile, Henri denounced news that his daughter had plans of moving to her native hometown in the Netherlands. According to him, he recently talked with Annette, who said that they were staying in the Hamptons.

This was not the first time that Annette had been dragged into the spotlight. She had initially filed for divorce from Lauer in 2006, citing "inhumane acts." Later, she withdrew her documents and reconciled with the host.

Lauer, who worked for the show for more than 20 years, was fired after network executives received a detailed complaint penned by Lauer's coworker, stating the inappropriate deeds done by the host.

Host Savannah Guthrie read the statement of NBC News chairman Andrew Lack informing the public that although the complaint was the first for Lauer, it was enough for execs to reach their decision. Lack also revealed that Lauer had gravely violated the network's regulations and standards.
