Apple has yet to upgrade its line of Macs in 2013: Macbook Pro, Macbook Pro with Retina Display, iMacs, and Mac Pro.
Apple's iPhone media event on Sept. 10 revealed two new handsets - the all new iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. Some new features for the iOS 7 were previewed, along with the list of free apps that will be made available with the new handsets.
However, those waiting to buy a new Macbook this year were left disappointed when the upgraded line of Macbook Pros weren't launched at the same time. Apple made no mention of the release of the upgraded Macs in their keynote address Tuesday.
Apple's flagship Macbook Pro has yet to receive the upgraded fourth-generation 'Haswell' processor. The new Macbook Air already packs the powerful processor which has significantly increased battery life for up to 14 hours.
Some rumors previously suggested that Apple may take out the optical drive found in the current Macbook Pros for the new upgrade, taking the same step they did when they removed the drive from the iMacs in 2012.
The all new 2013 Macbook Pro may also feature retina display, meaning that it will be a hybrid of the two existing models.
Nothing has been set in stone and there have been no official announcement from Apple as expected. But we can only speculate on what the upgraded Macbook Pro will entail.
One thing for sure is that it will be upgraded with the Haswell processor and launch with the new OS X Mavericks.
The iMac is also due for a refresh with internal upgrades since its release in 2012.
A separate event to release the 5<sup>th generation iPad will be held in October 2013. Hopefully Apple will bring out the upgrades Macs by then.
