'Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood' news: Safaree Samuels explains why he left 'Hollywood' for 'New York'

After his stint for VH1's "Scared Famous," Safaree Samuels prepares for "Love & Hip Hop: New York" season 8. VH1 official website

Safaree Samuels from "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" is going back to his home court, as the rapper and songwriter leaves Los Angeles for New York to join the cast of "Love & Hip Hop: New York" instead.

The 36-year-old rapper explained to InTouch, "I'm very excited. I was down in LA and paying attention to my surroundings and like, 'I need to move back to New York. I need to be back home, I need to be around my friends, my family, and people that have really known me. So I decided I want to move back to New York."

This suggests that the actor may not have been comfortable with his co-stars in "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood." Still, InTouch suggested that the rapper will miss "Hollywood" since he expressed that its current season was the best and that he thinks that it just keeps getting better as the episodes go by. Samuels particularly liked the reunion for the show.

In the meantime, Samuels is keeping himself busy with VH1's new horror reality television series "Scared Famous," despite having several other engagements in the music and television industry. Samuels will reportedly be competing with nine other celebrities in "Scared Famous" in order to raise $100,000 for the Children of Jamaica charity. The rapper revealed that he is thrilled at the opportunity to do something new and different since he also recalled that VH1 rarely explores that type of goal in their shows.

Samuels was thankful for his stint at "Love and Hip Hop" since the reality show allowed people to see his personality. Before he joined the show, he alleged that people usually had misconceptions about him. He felt that the show helped people see who he really is. Still, the Samuels switching locales in the show may have another big impact on him and his career.

Samuels will come home to New York in the upcoming eighth season of "Love & Hip Hop: New York," which premieres on Monday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. EDT on VH1.
