LG V20S release date, specs: Smartphone to arrive in Europe; similar to Japan-exclusive isai Beat?

The LG isai Beat, shown here, is a Japan-exclusive smartphone. Reports claim that the LGV20S will have the same specs and dimensions as the isai Beat. LG.com

It has been almost two months since the LG V20 was released, and the phone was a big hit as it came with high-end audio reproduction and recording capabilities, perfect for those who love making videos. The handset may not be coming to Europe, but a new report claims that a smaller version of the device might be making its European debut soon.

According to Phone Arena, sources said that an upcoming smartphone named the LG V20S is likely to come to international markets including Europe, and will have some of the key features of the LG V20. It was also said that the device could be very similar to a phone that already exists in Japan — the LG isai Beat.

The website reports that the LG isai Beat went official in October via the Japanese carrier au KDDI, with unlocked versions in Titanium and Gold color options hitting shelves in Japan in November. The phone is said to be similar to the V20, but it has a 5.2-inch display, while the LG V20 has a 5.7-inch screen.

The LG isai Beat measures 2.8 x 5.86 x 0.31 inches and weighs 5.15 ounces. Apart from its 5.2-inch Quad HD main screen, it also has a smaller secondary screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor with 4 GB of random access memory (RAM). The device has 32 GB of native storage, expandable via microSD cards. It has a 16-megapixel rear camera and a wide-angle secondary rear sensor, as well as the dual-FoV selfie cam. Though the isai Beat may be smaller than the V20, the Japan-exclusive beats the flagship with its waterproof capabilities as it has an IP67 rating, while the V20 isn't even splash-resistant.

It is expected that the LG V20S will be a big hit in Europe should it bear the same specs and dimensions as the LG isai Beat. LG has yet to confirm if the upcoming phone is in development.
