Lamar Odom health update: first public appearance at Kanye West's fashion show

Lamar Odom appeared at Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 show on Thursday, Feb. 11, his first public appearance since his accidental overdose in October. According to E! Online, the former NBA player walked side by side with West, who personally invited him to attend the event. The website reports that the 36-year-old looked happy and healthy as he made his way into Madison Square Garden for the show.

Odom's appearance marked the first time that he attended a public event since he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel last October. It was reported that he was in a coma and suffered a dozen strokes as a result of the overdose and was in hospital care until January. Last month, he was moved from Cedars-Sinai hospital to a private facility as he undergoes therapy to improve his cognitive and motor functions.

On Wednesday, the basketball star was spotted boarding a private jet with estranged wife Khloe Kardashian at Van Nuys airport in Los Angeles. At the time, it was speculated that he was on his way to New York City where the rest of the Kardashian family were gathering for West's Yeezy Season 3 collection debut, as well as a preview of his highly anticipated new album "The Life of Pablo."

A source told E! that Odom was nervous about making his first public appearance.

"He spoke to Kim [Kardashian] and Kanye about their thoughts about him attending the Kanye show before, but it was Khloe's ultimate decision."

The insider added that the rapper personally invited Odom, but he wouldn't make the appearance without Khloe's support and approval.

"[She] is making all the calls on what Lamar is doing and who he speaks to this trip and won't be leaving his side," said the source.

The former couple even posed for photographs together, with Odom dressed in a camouflage print jacket, a black shirt and black pants and accessorized with a black knitted hat and gold necklaces. Meanwhile, the reality star donned a beige bodysuit and a pale pink fur coat for the event.

The source said that the two have gotten so close and it is speculated that they may get back together.
