Kylie Jenner called out for pricey makeup brushes

After the success of her namesake makeup line, Kylie Cosmetics, social media superstar Kylie Jenner had released a set of 16 makeup brushes. But, it was not warmly welcomed by all.

Fans of the makeup maven lamented that the brush set's price, $360, was too much and had hit back at Jenner for the staggering price, which some noted was worth more than a lot of makeups already. "So I've decided this brush set is ridiculous and I haven't even spent $350 on all my makeup together," user @HaleyB1029 tweeted and added that she was just going to spend the money on food.

The backlash on the release of this product line, which is part of the Silver Series collection, has made the 20-year-old release a statement on Twitter. "Real brushes don't compare to synthetic brushes. Different performance/quality/everything. I am 100% down to do an entire synthetic line in the future which will ultimately be cheaper," the rumored pregnant Jenner said as an explanation.

But, this had further disappointed fans. Some even said that there are many more other companies and brands that sell the same, if not better, quality brushes Jenner offers. The criticisms had been loud as fans and bloggers echoed the same sentiments over social media. As if to somehow to ease the tension, the girlfriend of rapper Travis Scott shared on Twitter a photo of sets of brushes from other brands and said in the caption that she always fought for the "lowest price," comparing the prices to other prominent brush brands.

Unfortunately for the young mogul, her move had yet again backfired, as people started calling her out for comparing her brand to others that have already been established in the fashion industry. "You literally only came out with a little bit of brushes before and now you wanna drop this?" user @JannelCosplays said.
