The king of brawling games is back with a new character, as "King of Fighters XIV" gets a new downloadable content (DLC) with two unique updates.

Two new content updates have been revealed for the competitive fighting game developed by Shin Nihon Kikaku (SNK). The first one is a new fan-made character with a Saudi Arabian theme, the black-robed female sorceress named Najd. The said character was created by female artist Mashael Al-Barrak who won SNK's character design contest, which was organized by Manga Productions in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, and the U.A.E.

The contest was held because SNK chairman, Zhihui Ge, stated that SNK would like to be closer to their Middle Eastern fans, hence the design of the Arabian character. Apart from that, they would also like to encourage new and young contributors and artists in making new plans and figures.

As an Arabian themed character, Najd wears a hijab (veil) on her head. Although the hijab consequently falls whenever she makes a strong move against her opponent, she will put it back up afterward. Apart from the veil, Najd will also be donning modern long leather gloves and boots, as well as a golden belt and blue jewelry. It is not yet clear what her fighting style or powers will be.

As for the second DLC, a new fighting stage with an Arabian theme is also included. The new arena will be called Masmak Fort Arena, which is also fan-made by Zainab Al-Lawaty from Oman. The design is a product of the same contest which SNK held in the Middle East. The new stage apparently has a background consisting of the most popular Middle Eastern skyscrapers and architecture from different Arab countries.

It is unclear yet when the two will be added in-game. For now, fans are advised to stay tuned. In the meantime, "King of Fighters XIV" is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
