Are Katy Perry and John Mayer dating again?
The "Hot and Cold" singer and Mayer were seen together on Saturday night, July 4, in Chicago. TMZ reports that the two got cozy at the Grateful Dead farewell concert. For the outing, Perry donned a tie-dyed spaghetti strapped top and ripped jeans, while the "Daughters" singer wore a blue bandana on his head, dark rimmed eyeglasses and a stonewashed denim shirt.
TMZ posted a picture on their official Twitter account which shows Perry with her arms wrapped around Mayer's waist while she stood behind him at the concert.
A source told People that the two were first spotted backstage on Friday at the Grateful Dead concert series and that they were being "super sweet together — but not standing too close — in a big group of friends." The picture posted on TMZ was reportedly taken on Saturday. Mayer attended all five shows: two in California and three in Chicago.
The pair wrapped up the weekend together on Sunday, where they reportedly continued to act affectionate while enjoying the last concert.
"They were holding hands backstage Sunday," said an onlooker to People. "For a short time, they were in a pit, but then the spotlight went on them, so John grabbed Katy's hand, pulled her out, and they left."
Fans immediately took to social media to tweet pictures of the couple, obviously thrilled that they seem to be together again. Twitter user @loveJohnKaty posted a picture of Perry whispering to Mayer as he leans in close to hear her, and the photo was captioned, "Love loveeee!" while @KatycatandAlien uploaded another photo of the pair and wrote, "R @katyperry & @JohnMayer back together im so confused."
Mayer and Perry first started dating on and off in 2012 before breaking up in February 2014. Since their breakup, the pair has been spotted together on more than one occasion, such as Perry's Super Bowl halftime show.
Back in May, the two were seen together at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California with a group of friends. They were also seen acting very cozy during a romantic meal at Los Angeles restaurant Ysabel in early April.
