Kanye West health update: Rapper 'paranoid and profoundly depressed'; Kim Kardashian reportedly helping to feed him at hospital

It has been a week since Kanye West was admitted at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. According to reports, the rapper spent Thanksgiving at the hospital as he recovers for exhaustion, and his wife, Kim Kardashian, has been very supportive and nurturing during this difficult time.

An insider told Us Weekly that the reality star has been "amazing" throughout this difficult time in their family.

"She knew he couldn't keep going the way he was," said the source. "She has been by his side through all of this, helping to feed him and laying by his side."

Two days prior to his hospitalization, West made headlines when he surprised fans at a Sacramento concert by ending the show just after 30 minutes. At the venue, he ranted about Beyoncé and Jay Z, and also spoke against all the politics in the music industry.

On Monday, the "Gold Digger" hitmaker reportedly started behaving erratically at his personal trainer's home, and according to TMZ, West's physician, Dr. Michael Farzam, was the one who called 911 and said that his patient was suffering from "temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration." West was reportedly placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold, which authorizes a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person suspected to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to themselves or to others.

Sources told TMZ that West has been in bad shape all week and that he is "paranoid and profoundly depressed," and that he has been dealing with these issues for quite some time. The media outlet was told that after the rapper was taken to the hospital last week, he was convinced that people were out to get him, including the doctors who were caring for him. Insiders said that for a time, the "Famous" rapper wouldn't even let doctors touch him. The sources add that West's paranoia has been building "for months."

Us' source said that Kim hasn't left her husband's side except to see their children, North, 3, and Saint, 11 months.

"Kim has been keeping a close watch on him and lot letting people disturb him," said the source. "She's being very careful about not letting him get wound up and making sure he rests and recovers."
