Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been very busy with their respective musical careers as Gomez has just launched her new album, "Revival" earlier this month, while Bieber's "Purpose" is slated to come out next month. Both albums have been much anticipated by their fans, and Billboard recently reported that the singer-actress's album reached the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart after sales reached 117,000 units in the album's debut week.

But it appears that the ex-couple had a surprise in store for their fans as over the weekend, a sultry new duet featuring Bieber and Gomez leaked online on Drake's OVO Sound Radio and was heard by many listeners on Saturday evening. The duet, titled "Strong," was accessible only for a few hours before it was deleted.

Many fans thought that the two appear to be singing about their failed relationship, as the former Disney star sang, "There's no sophistication in my lack of patience, I'm just wishing you were better at communication."

Bieber is heard singing, "You're the only one I'm really missing, nobody else would be forgiving, cause of all the love that you give me."

Neither of the two has issued a comment about the track, and it is unclear whether the song is going to be part of Bieber's new album, but fans have taken to social media to praise the new song, with some saying that the song was "actually good."

Another fan wanted to know how the song was recorded, as it is unknown whether Bieber and Gomez recorded the track at the same time or whether they sang their parts separately.

Meanwhile, a source from Hollywoodlife claims that the two did not record the song together. "They laid their tracks separately but were very involved with the song's creation and writing," said the insider. The source adds that the pair worked on the track while they were working on their respective albums.

"They are still very tight and [Justin] felt that it would be very therapeutic if they worked together," adds the source.

The two dated on and off for four years before splitting up in December 2014.
