'Jane the Virgin' season 3 spoilers, news: Exec teases Jane's love interests

Fans grieved with Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) when she lost the love of her life in the first half of "Jane the Virgin" season 3. Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) will be missed, but, with new potential love interests arriving in the episodes to come, will Jane be ready to open her heart to love again?

Speaking to Deadline, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman talked about the titular character's suitors. Jane might be a bit apprehensive to dive right in the dating pool, but, with the support of her loved ones, this widow might find love again.

"There is a lot of light and joy that are coming back. There are love interests, but it's all, 'how does she move on from all of this?'" Urman said. "At this point in the story there is no life without Mateo, Jane is a mom, she can't imagine her life without him. For this character who is such a planner, these curveballs are really important to keep her growing and changing and moving and keep the storytelling not stale."

One of Jane's rumored suitors is "Teen Wolf" alum Tyler Posey. Reports say that he will be portraying a character from Jane's past.

Posey has recently been spotted with the cast of "Jane the Virgin." On Rodriguez's Instagram account, she shared a photo with her co-actors, which include the "Teen Wolf" alum. Along with the snap, she wrote, "My beautiful, weird, funky tv family. God. I love them all." One particular hashtag stood out, "#seasonFinale."

The photo might have been taken during the filming of the final episode of "Jane the Virgin" season 3. Little is known about Posey's role, but he will most likely be introduced in the finale. Reports say that Posey will be a recurring character in the following season.

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 returns on Monday, April 24, at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
