iPhone 8 release date, specs rumors: New leaked schematics hint OLED screen rumors

Apple's latest iPhone model, the iPhone 7, which will be succeeded by the iPhone 8 Apple website

More leaked details about the iPhone 8 are making the rounds online.

Several tipsters shared an image that is reportedly sourced from Weibo, showing the rumored schematics and interior of the OLED iPhone 8. This matches most of the previously released designs and schematics of the iPhone 8.

The image also shows a vertical dual-lens camera at the back with a LED flash in the center. It also has a large round area that may be meant for the rumored wireless charging functionality. However, there is no Touch ID button found in the rear portion of the phone based on the leaked image.

Other rumors claim that Apple will release three versions of the next-generation iPhone this week. This will be the first since the Cupertino-based tech giant released the first-generation iPhone in 2007.

According to reports, Apple will release the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7 Plus as follow-ups to the current iPhone 7 product line that was recently released in the market. Then a higher-end iPhone model, which is believed to be the iPhone 8, will also be released this year.

The reports also mention that the next iPhone model will have a major redesign since it is expected to come out with an edge-to-edge curved screen just like the Samsung Galaxy S8. This means that it will decrease the size of the upcoming phone's bezels so it can have more space for the screen display.

The device will also let go of the usual physical home button to use the space for added screen. This will make it appear like most Android devices in the market.

Apple has yet to confirm the rumors, but the tech firm is expected to unveil the new iPhone products during the company's keynote event scheduled sometime in fall 2017.
