The newest Fighter Pack 3 of "Injustice 2" brings the Teenage Mutant Turtles to the fighting game. Ed Boon, the video game's characters, sent out a tweet of surprise at how they managed to keep the inclusion of the turtles under wraps.

The announcement was made during the "Injustice 2" World Championships. Fans already had an idea that the latest Fighter Pack would have some mystery characters in the trailer's reveal, but all were still floored when they saw the Turtles in a Half Shell joining the video game's already diverse roster that has the video game branching and getting different characters like the ones from "Mortal Kombat" and "Hellboy."

It is still unclear how the Turtles will be played in the game. Outside of their official inclusion on the already large roster of fighters, how they factor them in will be another reveal and it could most likely be done in different ways.

Already proving to be an improvement of its predecessor game "Injustice: Gods Among Us," "Injustice 2" will be banking on the diversity of its roster as it steadily continues to expand its universe. The video game has already promised a lot of characters including some from the "Watchmen" franchise and many were blindsided when Michelangelo was revealed to be the one wearing the trench coat in the trailer before being joined by his brothers Leonardo, Donatello, and Raphael.

While a lot of fans where surprised at the inclusion of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a few have already expressed their frustration at the video game's developer, NetherRealm Studios, for using the Turtles as gimmick characters. It still remains to be seen how they will be used in the game, but they sure will be providing their brand of offbeat style and humor that have endeared them to a lot of people.

The Teenage Mutant Turtles will start to be available in the game in February.
