Is the honeymoon stage over for Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed? A new report claims that the couple, who married last April, has been arguing about having children. One of them is said to be eager to start a family, while the other is focused on career matters.

A source told OK! Magazine that the couple has been arguing "a lot." The magazine claims that since tying the knot earlier this year, Somerhalder has expressed his desire to have a child, but the "Twilight" star is allegedly making excuses as to why it's not the right time to have a baby. Reed's main reasons are reportedly that she wants to spend more time traveling and focusing on her work. The 27-year-old recently joined the cast of "Sleepy Hollow" as a series regular.

"Nikki is ambitious and worries about derailing her career if she gets pregnant now," says the insider.

Recently, the "Vampire Diaries" star spoke to Entertainment Tonight and said that he is ready to become a father.

"Absolutely," the actor said. Somerhalder even joked that he's the one expecting right now, telling ET, "I'm actually pregnant right now!"

"It's the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something," he added. "It's a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world—but I can't really wait to do it and just love it," said the 36-year old.

Right now, the couple is parents to nine pets, which include horses and a few dogs. The pair supports a number of causes that raise awareness of animal rights and the environment. They were seen together at New York City on Sept. 28 at the United Nations Environment Program Champion of the Earth event, where the couple served as hosts.

The pair got married on April 26 in a secret ceremony at the Tuscali Mountain Inn in Topanga, California after dating for nine months.
