The Humble Bundle gives a new meaning to "girl power," as its latest weekly sale sees the discount of video games with female protagonists.

The discounts amount to as much as 80 percent off the original prices of several games. The following are now priced as such: "Bayonetta" for $15, "Rise of the Tomb Raider" for $24, "Tacoma" for $16, "Life Is Strange" for $5, "Alien: Isolation" for $8, and "Her Story" for $1.50. Other games included are "SteamWorld Heist," "Haydee," and "Gone Home." The offers are only for the PC platform versions, however.

The most notable games are "Bayonetta" and "Rise of the Tomb Raider." "Bayonetta" is a hack-and-slash video game developed by PlatinumGames and published by Sega. It follows the story of Bayonetta, the last survivor of an ancient witch clan who keeps the balance between light, dark, and chaos. After awakening from a 500-year slumber with amnesia, she must then set off on a quest to re-discover herself and why she was summoned. The PC version of the game is highly rated and has a review score of 92 percent positive overall reviews on Steam.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider," on the other hand, features a more human character, Lara Croft, who is also one of the most iconic female lead protagonists in the history of gaming. Croft is essentially an archaeologist, and "Rise of the Tomb Raider" follows an arc in her story where she uncovers an ancient mystery, which attracted the attention of a ruthless secret organization called Trinity. The game's PC version is also highly rated, bearing a review score of 92 percent overall positive on Steam.

Additionally, this week's Humble Bundle offerings are also focused on games from developer Stardock, where an extra $1 on their purchases will net players Stardock titles like "Sorcerer King: Rivals" and "The Corporate Machine." Paying additional money will allow player to get even more Stardock games.

Gamers availing of the Humble Bundle may also donate to the website's featured charity. This week's donations will go to Special Effect, a UK based organization that uses video games to support people with disabilities. More information regarding the sales and the contribution is available on the Humble Bundle website.
