"House of Cards" was renewed for a fourth season back in April, and while everyone is focused on the real U.S. presidential election, fans of the show can't wait to see what happens to fictional US President Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) when the show returns to Netflix next year.

Filming for season 4 is underway as The Baltimore Sun reports that the show is seeking extras for the final episodes of the series' fourth season. It appears that the show will be filming a press conference scene as the website reports that casting directors are seeking reporters, photographers, videographers, and boom operators, specifically "new faces" for scenes.

While filming for the fourth season is going on, many are wondering when the series will be returning to Netflix. According to Fansided, the series' past season premiere dates may offer a clue as to when season 4 will start airing on the streaming service.

The website reports that since the show premiered, there has been exactly a one-year and 13-day gap between seasons. Season 1 premiered on Feb. 1, 2013, season 2 started airing on Feb. 14, 2014, while season 3 premiered on Feb. 27 of this year. If the show sticks to its formula, then "House of Cards" could possibly premiere on March 11, 2016.

There have been very few spoilers about the upcoming season as the cast and crew have been keeping things under wraps. At the Global Financial Leadership Conference in Naples last month, Spacey talked about how his career choices made him ready to take on a role like Frank Underwood, but according to Naples News, the actor refused to talk about the upcoming season, saying that they should not give away story lines.

"We have to accept that we live in a nonspoiler generation," said Spacey, adding that there are some people who haven't even seen the first season of the show.

"I will simply say this," he said, "if there are events that happen on the show, people get what they [expletive] deserve."

Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for "House of Cards" season 4.
