It seems like more problems are coming up for Kevin Spacey, who plays Frank Underwood in the political drama "House of Cards."
The Wrap reports that Spacey, who is currently besieged by sexual harassment accusations, has been dropped by both his talent agency, CAA, and his publicist, Staci Wolfe.
In light of the allegations against him, several members of the "House of Cards" production team have come forward with their own harrowing experience with the show's lead actor. CNN managed to talk to a couple of current and former employees of the show who either experienced being sexually harassed by Spacey or witnessed his rude behavior over the last several years.
A former production assistant who worked on the show in its early seasons detailed an incident where he picked up Spacey and drove for him. The former PA recalled that when they were almost on the set, Spacey placed his hands on the man's pants without permission. There are implications that something more than that happened, and the former PA expressed his discomfort with Spacey's actions.
Another crew member who still works on the show claims that Spacey often made rude remarks at him. With Spacey being one of the producers of the show and its lead star, this gave him power on the set and prevented the crew member from coming forward and telling his story. His claims were corroborated by other crew members of "House of Cards," including an assistant camera man and a female production assistant, who claimed to have seen Spacey inappropriately touch male crew members and make lewd comments.
The firestorm started with the accusation of actor Anthony Rapp, who alleged that he was harassed by Spacey when he was only 14 while the actor was 26. Spacey attempted to diffuse the situation by apologizing and coming out as a gay man, which was met with a huge backlash.
Since then, the show's creator, Beau Willimon, has publicly denounced Spacey's behavior, with Netflix announcing that season 6 will be the show's final season and a spin-off was being developed without Spacey's character. The streaming giant also responded to the accusations by setting up anonymous complaint hotline numbers and meetings with crisis counselors and legal advisers for the crew.
