The "Horizon Zero Dawn: Frozen Wilds" expansion will be the franchise's only expansion which will come out later this year.

The popular role-playing game (RPG) from developers Guerrilla Games was released earlier this year for the PlayStation 4 (PS4). It is because of its success that publishers Sony Interactive Entertainment decided to come out with a downloadable content (DLC) to increase the game's popularity.

However, Guerrilla Games officially announced on Twitter that this will be the game's only expansion. If fans were looking forward to more landscapes and challenges with the franchise, it is unfortunate that "Frozen Wilds" will be the only one they can look forward to in the near future.

The "Horizon Zero Dawn" game centers around a character named Aloy who is a skilled hunter and archer. The world, however, she is embroiled in is overrun by dangerous robots. The character must strive to stay alive by using her bow and arrow, and the occasional spear to combat the mechanized creatures. Their destroyed remains can be looted for important resources. She must also use stealth tactics in order to evade and sneak around the enemy whenever possible.

The new expansion "Frozen Wilds" will be set in colder terrains like frozen lakes, icy caves, and more. Guerrilla Games' community manager Jeroen Roding explained "'Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds' is an expansion for 'Horizon Zero Dawn' that takes place in the Cut, a boreal wasteland to the north that separates theBanukhomelands from the rest of the world. It is a place where none but the most skilled hunters dare venture, and those that do must survive against dangerous new machines and freezing temperatures."

The "Horizon Zero Dawn Frozen Wilds" expansion is expected to arrive on Tuesday, Nov. 7 for the PS4. Those who pre-order the DLC will get an exclusive PS4 avatar.
