Harry Styles album release date, tracklist: Harry Styles self-titled album to launch on May 12

One Direction member Harry Styles is going to launch his first solo album in a few weeks. He recently revealed the release date of the album as well as its track list.

Styles' upcoming album is self-titled. It is slated for release this May 12. The record is composed of 10 songs, one of which is his first single, titled "Sign of the Times." The song debuted last April 7.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Styles shared that he came up with over 70 songs for the album. 50 of those songs and ideas were made in Jamaica. He calls his compositions "little ideas."

As for the full songs, he said," I say there are 30 songs, probably. One of the songs on the album, I wrote a few years ago."

The record's nine tracks are "Meet Me in the Hallway," "Carolina," "Two Ghosts," "Sweet Creature," "Only Angel," "Kiwi," "Ever Since New York," "Woman," and "From the Dining Table."

The pop singer also took to Instagram to share the album art for his self-titled album. From the looks of it, he seems to be naked, or partially naked, in a body of water. A more recent photo he posted was of his back, which is turned against the camera. He seems to be taking a dip in a pool with pink water. Hordes of followers expressed their excitement for Styles' upcoming record. And although the singer has yet to unveil his songs, Directioners are already standing by him.

Aside from the upcoming record, Styles is expected to appear in a Christopher Nolan film, titled "Dunkirk." Although the pop singer has branched out, he admits that the film did somehow help in the creative process of song writing.

More updates on Harry Styles should arrive in the weeks to follow.
