"Guardians of the Galaxy" became a surprise hit when it premiered in 2014 as it became a critical and commercial success, grossing more than $700 million worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing superhero film of the year. Though fans will have to wait before the sequel premieres, Dave Bautista, who plays Drax in the film, recently gave some updates about "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and said that "the process has already started" for the upcoming movie.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, the WWE star said that he already went in for a visit to Pinewood Studio and that he has done some screen tests and make-up tests for his character. Bautista said that he's trying not to know too much about the story before they start filming.

"I'm super excited. They're in the second draft of the script, and I was offered that, but I said, 'No, I don't want it until it's ready to go!'" he told the website. Bautista said that part of the reason why he didn't take the script was because he did not want to risk saying something and possibly giving something away about the movie before it premieres.

Bautista, who is a fan of the comics, said that he hasn't asked director James Gunn anything about the sequel, including who Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) father will be.

"I honestly think that if I asked James, he would tell me, but I haven't asked him," said Bautista.

This week, Bradley Cooper, who plays Rocket in the film, appeared to have spoiled who Peter's father is, as he said in a recent interview with MTV International, "[Josh Brolin] is the main villain, no? He was in the first one, he played what's his name's dad…Dark Lord, the main guy."

However, Gunn took to Twitter to reassure fans that Cooper did not reveal Thanos as Peter's father and that at the time of the interview, the actor was unaware of who the villain for the upcoming movie was.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, Gunn tweeted, "In response to all the stories coming out, Bradley Cooper didn't reveal anything. He just got the script and hasn't read it yet. I promise."

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" premieres on May 5, 2017.
