"Gotham" may still be on its hiatus, but the infamous DC Comics character Harley Quinn is expected to be introduced in the finale of the show's season 3.

During an interview with Screener at the WonderCon, executive producer Danny Cannon revealed that they have huge plans of introducing the fan-favorite character this season.

"That's a character we've always wanted to have," the executive producer stated. "It's a lot of people's favorite character — but the age problem was always going to be there."

Since the timeline of the series happens during the pre-"Batman" era, introducing characters who will be older than David Mazouz's character, the teenage Bruce Wayne, is an issue. Since Harley Quinn's story claims that she used to be a psychiatrist named Harleen Quinzel, it could be a challenge to see her fit in the current timeline of the series.

However, Cannon revealed that there could be a good chance to incorporate the female villain in the story just like what they did with Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan), also known as the future The Joker.

"Like we did with Jerome, our job at 'Gotham' was to create a world where Batman was going to be necessary," the executive producer stated. "So finding a character called Jerome, you just give the idea in people's minds that some anarchists, people who love chaos and have no filter whatsoever, can exist."

Meanwhile, the teaser of the return of "Gotham" season 3 reveals that Bruce will start his transformation from an orphaned, rich kid to a stronger teenager who will become the Caped Crusader someday.

Based on the trailer, the orphaned son of Thomas and Martha Wayne will undergo a series of training under his legal guardian and loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee).

FOX will release the premiere episode of "Gotham" season 6 on Monday, April 24, at 8 p.m. EDT.
