'General Hospital' Thursday episode recap, July 3 spoilers: An old enemy's reappearance stuns Luke

Luke on General Hospital ABC/ General Hospital

Thursday on "General Hospital," Spencer asked his father to explain why he stole ELQ. Nikolas said that he did it for him and explained that their family is broke because Uncle Victor and Grandma Helena spent too much money. He said that he wanted his son to keep on living the life that he's accustomed to and not become a townie. Spencer thought that wouldn't be such a bad fate — wasn't his mother a townie? He said that after the fire disfigured him, he spent so much time worrying about his looks that he didn't even think if he was ugly on the inside. Spencer told his father to call the Quartermaines and return their money, but Nikolas said that's not how things work.

In Canada, Holly and Laura kept a lookout on the grounds while Luke entered the warehouse. He found Ethan standing in the middle of the room. Ethan told him not to come any closer — he was standing on a bomb. He said that he's been standing there for at least 16 hours and said that Lucky is alive and was able to escape. Ethan was feeling dizzy and he urged Luke to go and find Lucky, but Luke decided that he's going to try to disarm the bomb.

Meanwhile, a guard offered to drive Lulu and Dillon to the hospital, and Lulu pretended that she was going into labor to avoid getting into the van. But their scheme to distract the guard failed when Lulu's fake tummy tumbled to the ground. Another guard came and grabbed Lulu from behind and threatened to break her neck. Lulu elbowed him and broke free while Dillon fought the other guard. They left the guards and headed back to find Luke and the others. One of the guards woke up and made a call.

At the warehouse, Luke tried to disarm the bomb before pushing Ethan off it, and it didn't explode. The guards arrived with Dillon, Lulu, Holly, and Laura, and Luke demanded to see their boss. Luke and Laura gasped when the boss walked in.

Here's what to expect on "General Hospital" on Friday, July 3: July 4th activities take place in Port Charles; the appearance of a former foe leaves Luke stunned; Denise makes a confession to Franco.

"General Hospital" airs Mondays to Fridays at 1 p.m. on ABC.
