'Game of Thrones' season 6 plot rumors: Jon and Bran to exact revenge?

Game of Thrones HBO

Fans of "Game of Thrones" were elated when photos of Kit Harington dressed as his character Jon Snow began circulating online last week. It was reported by the Daily Mail that the photos were taken in Belfast in Northern Ireland, and the photos appeared to confirm that Jon Snow is alive and well.

Meanwhile, despite attempts to keep season 6 spoilers from leaking out, a lot of the show's fans have taken to social media to report activities on the sets of the series, which are spread out in Northern Ireland and Spain, among others.

Ireland continues to see a lot of activity on set and Twitter user Irish Thrones updates fans about the production. On Sept. 11, Irish Thrones said that Harington and Iwan Rheon were spotted at Lavery's Bar in Belfast and that Harington was "back in action at Titanic Studios earlier today." On Sept. 19, the tipster tweeted that several sources claim that in season 6, Benjen Stark returns and that he and Jon will seek revenge against those who have wronged them. Over the weekend, the fan added that Bran is rumored to make his first appearance in season 6 alongside Cold Hands mounted upon a Stag or an Elk.

On Sept. 29, Irish Thrones reported the "largest activity yet" on the Saintfield, Ireland set of the HBO show. The fan said that there was a "massive amount of activity" and that there were huge amounts of smoke and fake snow on the set.
"The sheer scale is bigger than ANYTHING the show ever did! Lots of local Horse boxes entering and leaving set," Irish Thrones said.

Watchers on the Wall has the scoop on the "massive amount of activity" described by the Twitter user. It looks like fans of the show are in for a big battle that will rival Battle at Hardhome, which was featured in season 5. According to the website, the show filmed a massive battle sequence between the Boltons and the wildlings in Saintfield. The website's sources claimed that several armies are involved in the battle and that the scene could likely surpass anything that has ever been seen in the series.

"Game of Thrones" season 6 is expected to return in April 2016.
