Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might be getting married soon, but it is no secret that Markle had once exchanged vows with Trevor Engelson.

Many might be wondering who was holding the "Suits" actress' heart prior her relationship with royalty. Markle was married to Engelson, a film producer. He is 41 years old, and many would recognize him for the film "Remember Me." The movie starred Robert Pattinson and Ally Craig.

But, the now-known film executive first entered the show businesses as a production assistant and then worked his way up to what he is enjoying right now. Aside from being a producer, he also manages numerous people, mostly from the industry as well, such as directors, screenwriters, and actors.

Engelson and Markle got married on Sept. 11, 2011, in Ocho Rios in Jamaica. The ceremony was graced by more than 100 people. Of these, one guest revealed that the actual ceremony took place for just about 15 minutes. The couple first started dating in 2004, before being engaged in 2010, and finally, tying the knot a year later.

Two years later, the two decided to call it quits and divorced in August 2013. Both cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their decision. However, the real reason, as spilled by one source, was Markle's landing of a role in the USA legal drama series, "Suits." Apparently, playing Rachel Zane had taken a toll on their relationship, especially since it happened during the same year they got married.

The distance reportedly played a major role in their decision, but another source shared, "Despite being together for six years before getting hitched, things started to fall apart not long after the wedding." Even so, both Markle and Engelson had kept mum on the details of their split.

Meanwhile, fans have taken note of Engelson's latest project. This September, Deadline reported that Engelson had been working on a comedy that revolves around a person who shares his ex-wife with the royal family after the latter marries a prince. Even though the scenario looks the same, the story is claimed to be fictional.
