"Everspace" is ever expanding, as the "Encounters" expansion for the game has been released and adds as much as 10-hours worth of new content for players to experience.

Developer Rockfish Games has made the expansion available for "Everspace," a rogue-like space simulator. In addition to 10 hours of new content, a new ship, new selection of weapons, devices, and consumables, and new locations and space stations have also been introduced with the expansion. These will provide a lot of new twists and formulas to the gameplay experience.

The new ship is called Colonial Sentinel and handles like an Interceptor in-game, similarly having a mid-class engine and average maneuverability. The Sentinel, though, has impressive advanced electronic warfare capabilities. As such, it comes with a Shield ST, which contains twice the amount and capability of the regular models.

An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) generator is also available as a utility for the Sentinel so it can incapacitate enemy ships, as well as hack security doors, comm hubs, and jump suppressors.A fourth modding slot for any device or primary weapon is also added to the Sentinel, making it stand out from the rest of the spacecraft selections.

Additionally, new weapons have been added, like the Lightning Gun, which deals arcing damage to enemies near the primary target. There will also be a Neutron Cannon, which is a charged weapon that can unleash devastating area damage, a Seeker Missile Battery, which can be used to barrage enemy ships with multiple explosives, and a Plasma Thrower, which creates massive clouds of plasma in space that can damage enemies over time.

To pair with the offensive additions, some useful devices for defense are also included like the Emergency Shield, which can save the players when their ship's hull integrity is compromised, the Decoy Generator, which can deceive enemies, and a Damage Converter, which will convert some of incoming damage to energy for the players' ships.

Staying true to its namesake, new space stations and enemies also abound in the "Encounters" expansion of "Everspace," which is now available on Steam for $9.99.
