The trailer for the last five episodes of "Empire" season 3 showed that the Lyons will have the craziest, sexiest, and most intriguing ride of their lives.

Based on the new sneak peek, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) will confront her ex-husband Lucious (Terrence Howard) and the new woman in his life Giuliana Green (Nia Long), but the latter will not allow the Lyon matriarch to affect them.

On the other hand, two of their sons appear like they are in for some hot and intimate tryst. In one of the scenes, Andre (Trai Byers) seems to be flirting with the Nevada state gaming commissioner Charlotte Frost (guest star Eva Longoria). On the other hand, the youngest Lyon Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Grey) appears like he is enjoying his time with the ladies while spending time with women in a jacuzzi.

The trailer also revealed that Angelo (Taye Diggs) will finally propose to Cookie, but her joy will not last for long. In one of the scenes, Angelo's mother Diana Dubois (Phylicia Rashad) will warn her that the entire Lyon family "will burn to the ground." This means that Diana will do everything that she can to make Cookie's life miserable despite her son's feelings for the Lyon matriarch.

Fans do not have to wait long for Angelo's big proposal, based on the trailer for the upcoming episode titled "Love is a Smoke."

In the episode's sneak peek, Cookie told Lucious that Angelo was already hinting about his plans to take their relationship to the next level. Lucious, however, reminded her about their own relationship, saying that whatever she and her new boyfriend have is nothing compared to what they shared in the past.

Executive producer Ilene Chaiken talked about the complicated relationship between Cookie and Lucious in a previous interview with HollywoodLife. According to Chaiken, "There's a thin line between love and hate, and for these two, it's more than that."

She also mentioned that the estranged power couple will go through another challenge in the upcoming episode of the series. She explained, "It's all out war, but they walk so close to that edge that you know they're still grappling with all of those emotions. They will be played out over the course of the season. There will be complications between them and more complications in the form of other love interests. By the end of the season, they get to a very interesting place."

FOX will air the next episode of "Empire" season 3 on Wednesday, April 26, at 9 p.m. EDT.
