'Duck Dynasty' Star Phil Robertson Slams Hillary Clinton, Accuses Democrats of Booing 'God Out of the Democratic Party'

"Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson does not think highly of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The female presidential hopeful has professed that she is a Christian, but Robertson says her actions prove otherwise.

While promoting his new film "Torchbearer," Robertson said Christians should dismiss any notion of a pro-Christian Democratic Party because they have "literally booed God out of the Democratic Party" during its 2012 presidential nominating convention, according to Charisma News.

He said the Democrats "ran God out" and "took His name out of their platform."

"So you get what you ask for, so here we are," he said. "So the bottom line is, someone says, well, if you entertain the thought of maybe voting for Hillary Clinton, I said, they ran God out of the Democratic Party. She has a hard time telling the truth because the evil one is the father of lies, according to Jesus, and she's living proof of it, my man."

For Robertson, the presidential candidate to support is Republican nominee Donald Trump. A lot of people have criticised the Trump bandwagon, and accused the candidate of being brash, demeaning to women, and inconsiderate to people of other faith and ethnicity. But the reality star said Trump is at least sincere about his Christian faith and has promised to uphold religious liberty.

"America needs to repent of its sin and turn back to God," he said. "It's a spiritual fix more than a political one. Our Founding Fathers warned us repeatedly to never let this day come, but the day has now come upon us."

Just recently, a group of 100 evangelical leaders even signed a letter condemning Trump and urging people not to vote for him during next month's U.S. presidential election. Robertson said instead of criticising Trump, these evangelical leaders should minister to him.

"I would say they need to lighten up, start going out and preaching the gospel to different people, including Donald Trump, and give him some time to think about spiritual matters, and work with him, and not condemn anybody," he said during an interview with WABC radio host Rita Cosby on Friday, adding that "the litmus test they're using is not a correct one."
