"Duck Dynasty" is gearing up for its ninth season as the A&E show continues to be a major draw on cable TV.

In the season 8 finale, Willie and Korie Robertson's eldest son, John Luke, married Mary Kate McEachern at the Robertson farmhouse averaged a 1.04 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.26 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen's "live plus same-day" ratings.

For the new season, more adventures await the family as season 9 kicks off with back-to-back episodes on Jan. 13.

According to Nola.com, the nine-episode new season of "Duck Dynasty" will see Willie and Alan helping Miss Kay as she opens her own bakery, and those living in West Monroe will finally be able to get a taste of the Robertson matriarch's famous breads and pastries.

Kay previously published a cookbook titled "Miss Kay's Duck Commander Kitchen: Faith, Family, and Food -- Bringing Our Home to Your Table" back in 2013, and it's possible that some of the recipes in the book will make its way to her bakery.

Other highlights for season 9 include Jase getting up close and personal with his in-laws, while Willie recruits family members to settle an old dodgeball score. WWE star Kurt Angle will make an appearance in one episode as he helps Jep with his wrestling. The Robertson brothers are huge fans of wrestling, and back in season 5, the brothers even went on a hilarious mock-wrestling match with each other in an outdoor wrestling ring.

Later on in the season, the Robertson women challenge the men to a high-stakes frogging competition, and in an effort to raise awareness for wounded veterans, the family stages a color run with the help of retired U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell.

The new season will also see the Robertson family helping John Luke and Mary Kate move into Liberty University. Along the way, the family makes a stop in Nashville to visit Willie's friend, country music rapper Colt Ford.
"Duck Dynasty" season 9 premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 9/8c on A&E.
