Driver rescued, his copy of Holy Bible undamaged after vehicle erupts in flames in Tennessee crash

"That is God. If you don't believe it, I don't know what to say."

A stunned witness made this remark after an SUV, a 2014 Jeep Laredo, erupted in flames after crashing into a pole while speeding along Interstate 385 near Memphis, Tennessee, WMC Action 5 TV reported.

Amazingly, the still unidentified driver of the vehicle was able to get out of the burning wreck with the help of responding police officers and Good Samaritans.

Even more amazing, a copy of the Bible owned by the driver was found on the front seat of the vehicle with no damage at all after the fire was put out.

Facebook user Anita Irby witnessed the incident and wrote: "THE ENTIRE EXPRESSWAY STOPPED and people ran from their cars trying to break the windows and open the doors of this man's car to free him; as they were, the others went up in prayer for God to deliver this man from the paws of the devil. ... None of the flames touched him," WND reported.

Witnesses said the driver was pinned against the steering wheel.

"All I could find was a gallon of water, so I went back and wet him so maybe it wouldn't burn him and I could keep him as moist as possible," Corey Kilpatrick told WMC.

The volunteers tried unsuccessfully to find a fire extinguisher. Moments later, a man ran over with a jack iron and broke through the window.

"It appeared he was completely trapped in the driver's seat," Kilpatrick said.

One witness caught the incident on camera and posted the video on Facebook.

When the flames were extinguished, the police checked what's left of the gutted vehicle. To their utter amazement, they found a copy of the Holy Bible inside.

The driver, who was taken to a nearby hospital, was treated for minor injuries.

The story spread like wildfire on social media on Tuesday, with most users calling the incident a miracle.

One Facebook poster wrote: "I just saw GOD on 385," according to KTLA.

Another wrote on Twitter: "This is truly the most incredible thing I've seen today. Driver saved from burning car, everything burned but Bible."
