"Detective Conan" fans should get dressed for action, as the next episode of the long-running anime series will see the mini detective solving a dressing room mystery murder.

Episode 879, titled "The Blindspot in the Dressing Room," is a direct television adaptation of chapter 971 of the 92nd volume of the manga. The episode takes place in a department store, where a murder of the store manager took place in the fitting room section. Police detective Juzo Megure discusses how the murder was possible with his partner, police inspector Wataru Takagi. The two speculate that the killer would have had difficulty sneaking behind his dressing victim since the mirror would signal his approach.

Shinichi Kudo, a.k.a. Conan, has proposed an ingenious plan of simulating the incident by making a pretend customer and making them guess where they would expect a killer to appear while in the dressing room. The idea also allowed Conan to explain how the killer might have struck without anyone seeing him as well as why no one else in the other fitting rooms heard her scream.

In the manga, Conan proposes to Megure and Takagi that the victim might have been incapacitated before the murder took place. Masumi Sera, Conan's detective friend, then suggests that the face cover might have been the tool used to make the victim unconscious and that the two detectives did not know what it was for since it was used by the women in the fitting rooms to cover their faces and prevent the makeup getting smeared to the clothes.

Sera and Conan suggest that the face covers were doused in chloroform and that it made the victim unconscious without the need for the killer to use brute force, making it easy for them to sneak in the dressing room and do the deed.

In the end, the detective due concluded that the killer was Yamaki-san, the assistant of the murdered store manager. Yamaki was compelled to kill the store manager since she had a debt to her and worked her like a slave.

"Detective Conan" Episode 879, "The Blindspot in the Dressing Room," will be aired on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 8 p.m. JST on Nippon TV, and 6 p.m. JST on YTV.
