Destiny PS4, Xbox One release date imminent as Bungie releases new trailer video after Beta success

"Destiny" will finally be releasing on Xbox One and PS4 consoles on Sept. 9.

Prior to the impending release, developer Bungie launched the final "Destiny" trailer for fans.

The trailer shows footage from the game's Beta, which was launched July 17, before ending on July 27. The Beta was available for all gaming console platforms – PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. However, the Beta for the PC edition was not made available. Bungie reported that over 88 million games were played during the Beta phase.

Following the conclusion of the Beta phase, Bungie thanked its fans for playing the game, hailing it a tremendous success. "The Destiny Beta was a tremendous success from where we sat overlooking the Tower. If you played Bungie thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We learned so much about our game, and how we can make it better," Bungie stated on Facebook. "Your next adventure begins on September 9th when we launch Destiny. Once we do that, we intend to keep it in orbit for a very long time. See you star-side."

Those waiting for the PC version will have to wait longer as it is more complicated to develop. "The truth is it's not that simple. I wish it was that simple. It is pretty complicated. That does not mean it can't happen in the future, it just means it won't happen right now," Bakker explained to "Eurogamer".

Last month, Bungie also stated: "We've watched the world of Destiny come to life. Guardians from every platform have arrived at the Tower from their battles in the wild. We have watched your adventures with great interest and listened to your feedback. Your missions have provided us with volumes of discoveries we can use to prepare for the launch of Destiny in September.

"Our work is not done. There is more we can learn. To make this happen, we need more Guardians to play. This is, above all else, a test. Help us deliver the game you deserve. Before we shut this party down, we'll welcome everyone who wants a preview of this brave new world."
