'Days of Our Lives' spoilers, recap: Chad pleads with Abigail to choose him over Ben

Thursday on "Days of Our Lives," Clyde called the hospital and Martin told him that the paternity test was already with Kayla. Clyde warned him to fix it or else Martin's wife might find herself a widow. In Kayla's office, Abigail was about to read the results when Martin called and said that the test was contaminated — he needed to run it again. Kayla destroyed the results. Later, someone called Kayla and said the test results were ready.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Justin said he wanted Victor to know that some men attacked his son in his own nightclub. Justin said he was surprised Paul was there. Sonny thought his father wanted Paul to break up his marriage. Justin said that he thought Paul had things figured out, whereas Will seemed a little immature for marriage. Sonny said it was no use — Paul had moved on. After Sonny left, Kate arrived and told Justin that Paul signed the contract.

Hope arrived at Will's place and said that she knew about Abby's secret, but she didn't understand why she's keeping it a secret. After they left, Paul arrived to let Sonny and Will know about what happened with Derrick. Paul told Sonny not to think that it's serious because he thought it was going nowhere.

Meanwhile at TBD, Chad wanted to talk about Abigail, but Ben refused to talk to him. They argued and Ben taunted Chad, saying that he gets to spend every night with Abby.

At the hospital, Kayla returned to her office with the paternity test results. Kayla bumped into Chad on her way in. She gave the results to Abigail, and she learned that Ben is her baby's father. Relieved, Abby left the office to talk to Ben. She went into her office, and Chad found her crying.

Here's what to expect on "Days of Our Lives" on Friday, Aug. 7: Chad pleads with Abigail to choose him; Caroline has a health crisis; Theresa gets an unpleasant surprise; Kate realizes that the warnings about Clyde may be worth listening to.

"Days of Our Lives" airs from Monday to Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
