'Days of Our Lives' Dec. 28 to Jan. 1 spoilers: A tragic New Year's Eve accident occurs

Last week on "Days of Our Lives," Chad was still under the influence of the drug that Andre injected into him and was brainwashed into leaving Abigail so he could help Andre and Stefano recover their stolen money.

Abigail went to her mother's house and told her about Chad's change of heart. Later, Jenn told JJ about this and when Abigail appeared, the siblings argued about it and JJ stormed off. Abby asked her mom to watch baby Thomas and she went out for some air.

Meanwhile, Hope was still a suspect in Dr. Malcolm's murder, and she met with Rafe at the station hoping to discuss it with him. Rafe said that he didn't want to talk about it but said that she should just trust him to handle it. Later, Ciara stormed to the station and confronted Rafe about her mother's case, but Rafe told her to ask Hope about it.

At home, Ciara asked Hope about her arrest and Hope said that she had nothing to do with Malcolm's murder and that she was being framed by the people who tortured Bo.

Chad had lunch with Belle at TBD and they talked about their families. Later, he reached for hand, and Abby walked in and saw this. Abby went to the DiMera mansion to confront Stefano and Andre and accused them of doing something to Chad, but they told her that Chad makes his own decisions.

This week, Abby asks Marlena to find out what's wrong with Chad while Hope closes in on the person responsible for Bo's kidnapping. Abby will also be dealing with some stunning news about her son and she will discover Chad and Belle in bed. Toward the end of the week, a tragic New Year's Eve accident forever changes the lives of several Salem residents.
