Last week on "Days of Our Lives," Chad told Abigail that they couldn't deny that they have feelings for each other. As they were about to kiss, they heard a phone ring outside — it was Ben's phone. Ben walked away to take the call, and Abby told Chad that the timing was all wrong. He wondered if he was too late. As Abby cried, Chad told her that he isn't using her and loves her more than anything in the world. Abby said she needed more time to make her decision.
Ben met his father, and Clyde was eager to talk about Abigail. Clyde handed over the ring that he was supposed to give Ben's mother before she died and encouraged him to propose to Abby tonight. Ben said that he didn't want to pressure her, but Clyde thought that it would prove to her how committed he is. Ben thanked Clyde and left.
At the club, a few guys taunted Paul for spending time with "fairies" like Sonny. Will appeared and defended Sonny, and soon, a fight broke out. John and Rafe broke up the fight and kicked the guys out. As Paul headed to the bathroom to clean up, he ran into Marlena. He said that he had been living in a protective bubble for years and sometimes wished he still did. She told him that his coming out helped a lot of younger people. Later, Paul and Derrick headed to the park and Paul said that those guys picked a fight just because he was famous.
Ben was at home looking at the ring when Abby arrived. Ben hid the ring in his pocket. Abby spotted the square-shaped lump in his pocket, and Ben pulled the box out and opened it to show her the ring. Ben proposed and said that they can get married whenever and however she likes. They kissed and he asked her to think about it.
