A new level of gaming prowess has been set by a streamer of "Dark Souls 3," as he beat the game with a level 1 character without getting hit at all.

Twitch streamer Squillakilla, now holds the highest repute in the online community of "Dark Souls" after finishing the game, downloadable contents (DLC) included, without leveling up his character or taking any damage from enemies. The whole challenge speed run took him about nine hours, as he masterfully hit enemies with a feeble level 1 Ashen One attack. This was the first time that anyone has achieved a playthrough of the game with ridiculously difficult parameters.

It is also worth noting that the streamer did the monumental feat without any summons or online help from other players. This level of gameplay takes a lot of commitment since the "Dark Souls" franchise games are known for their oppressive and overarching difficulty.

"Dark Souls 3" is an action-adventure roleplaying game (RPG) and the sequel and final game to the "Dark Souls" franchise, which began a sub-genre trend of difficult but fair games that require the full attention and commitment of the players. As such, the game has been known to cause a lot of stress and has actually become its own adjective, where difficult games are being dubbed as the "Dark Souls" of their genre.

Most players repeatedly die in the first five minutes of the game, and the deaths in-game are costly as they will force the players to start over from the last scarce checkpoint called "Bonfires." Upon death, players will also lose their hard-earned "Souls," the game's common currency used for leveling up and buying items.

This is the game's way of punishing players' mistakes, as well as teaching them to persevere in the face of overwhelming challenge, as some bosses can take as much as several dozen deaths or more than an hour to defeat. Despite this, "Dark Souls 3" is a critically-acclaimed game, not only or its challenge but also for its atmosphere and storytelling, scoring an 89 percent overall positive review score based on 38,008 reviews on Steam.

"Dark Souls 3" was released last year and is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows.
