'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' season 3 spoilers: Rebecca plots revenge against Josh after breaking her heart once more

Actress-series creator Rachel Bloom as the heartbroken lawyer Rebecca Bunch in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" The CW

Rebecca Bunch's (Rachel Bloom) love story with Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III) turned from good to bad in the previous season of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," but things are expected to turn worse in season 3.

According to reports, Rebecca could possibly plot to get even with her ex-boyfriend after they decided to get back together and planned to get married, until he opted to end their engagement once again since he believes that everything is a mistake during the show's second season.

Series co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna recently told Deadline that Rebecca will undergo a major personality change in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 3.

"[She'll be the] person who is very, very, very romantically obsessed in the face of opposition and apathy from this person, with the added element of revenge and what she thinks she deserves," McKenna stated. "She feels she deserves something now."

Other reports claim that the third installment of The CW series will feature more flashbacks regarding Rebecca's past. McKenna also revealed that the character's mental health background will be seen in the upcoming season, particularly her bouts with anxiety and depression.

Meanwhile, another report from Deadline reveals that Scott Michael Foster, the actor who portrayed the role of lawyer Nathaniel Plimpton on the show's second season, was promoted as a series regular for "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 3.

Foster's character was first introduced in season 2 episode 9 as the lawyer from a very popular and wealthy family from San Gabriel Valley. He is expected to be another possible love interest for Rebecca in the upcoming season.

Aside from Foster, David Hull's character Josh Wilson will also return as a series regular. The character is best known as "White Josh," who also happens to be one of the friends of Rebecca's ex-boyfriend with the same name.

The CW has yet to announce the official release date of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 3.
