Cissy Houston breaks silence on Bobbi Kristina: 'I know God is able'

Cissy Houston, grandmother of Bobbi Kristina Brown, gave her first interview regarding her granddaughter's condition on Wednesday.

Houston asked fans to continue to pray for the 22-year-old's recovery, and said that she feels the support the family has received around the world.

"I feel every bit of it," Houston told WBLS 107.5 FM in an exclusive interview. "I truly do."

Brown was found face-down in a bathtub at her home in Roswell, Georgia on January 31. She was revived by CPR, and was placed in a medically-induced coma, where she remains.

"She's the same," Houston said of her granddaughter. "We've moved her to a place for rehabilitation. And you know, still not a great deal of hope. [We're] still praying."

Reports say Brown was found by a friend, Max Lomas, and that life-saving measures were begun by her boyfriend, Nick Gordon. Brown and Gordon grew up together and went public about their relationship following Whitney Houston's death.

Houston, 81, said that in asking for God's intervention, she does not repeatedly pray for a miracle.

"I don't pray like that," she admitted. "I give it to God one time, because I know he's able. And I cannot change a thing. I'm asking everybody: 'Just pray to the Lord who we know CAN do something about it.'"

While remaining hopeful that Brown will recover from her critical condition, Houston remained realistic, and surrended her the situation to the will of God.

"If He works a miracle, thank God," she said. "If it happens the other way, I'm alright."

The Brown family has repeatedly criticised false media reports, and asked for privacy for the family during the difficult time.

"God is hearing our prayers," Brown's father, Bobby, said last month.
