Christian band Casting Crown's lead singer Mark Hall revealed on Facebook just this month that he was battling cancer.  He sought prayers for an impending operation to remove his kidney, where the cancer is located.

Now, the singer is in the hospital recuperating from his surgery. "Mark is out of surgery. Everything went really well," his wife Melanie wrote in the Casting Crowns Facebook page. "Dr says textbook operation. Just like we prayed for. I told the doctor that he might possibly be the most prayed for Dr. on the planet today. He will be in recovery for a while. Thank you so much for your prayers."

Right before surgery, Mark created a video thanking everybody for their love and support, and told people that the doctors would be removing his right kidney. "It's marked with a Sharpie so we don't mess that up! Cause I'm going to keep one in this deal!" he joked.

Mark looked very positive and upbeat, and even told fans that he would be "rocking on the stage" soon.

His wife added: "I'm sure you've seen his silly hospital videos. He has been in great spirits today. He worked late last night and was pretty tired and ready to go to sleep. He asked the anesthesiologist if he could just sleep till it was time to go home."

Of course, the anesthesiologist said no.

Melanie shared that the band, close family members, and their friends were with them the entire time at the hospital, and kept praying for Mark. There was a feeling of Christian fellowship and a peace, she shared, and lots of laughs and hugs were going around.

"Can't believe it, but so far every hospital staff person I've met so far has said they've been praying for us already. We came here prepared to love on them but they have been loving on us," she said.
