Jude Law is up for another integral lead role, as the Oscar-nominee actor has been chosen to play Ms. Marvel's mentor in the upcoming "Captain Marvel" movie.

Law will be playing Doctor Walter Lawson a.k.a. Mar-Vell, who acts as Carol Danvers' a.k.a. Ms./Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), teacher and mentor. Mar-Vell will be playing an important role in Danvers' development towards the righteous and mighty Captain Marvel, who was also an Avenger leader in the comic books and is also expected to be one in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

It is worth noting that Law's semblance will only be used for the human guise of Mar-Vell, who is an alien of the race called Kree and was the original Captain Marvel before he gave over the mantle to Danvers. As such, he will be overseeing Danvers and teaching her how to use her powers for good, some of which include superhuman strength, endurance, stamina, flight, physical durability, and resistance to poison and toxins.

The role of Mar-Vell is considered to be one of the biggest roles which Law will play this year and the next, as he was also chosen to play a young Albus Dumbledore in "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" where he will chase and fight the powerful Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). Other than that, Law also has an upcoming third "Sherlock Holmes" movie with Robert Downey Jr. where he will reprise his role as his partner, Dr. Watson.

As for Danvers' entanglement with the Avengers, it might not take place in "Captain Marvel" yet since the movie is to be set during the '90s in MCU. That said, Captain America (Chris Evan) and Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) from Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division (S.H.I.E.L.D.) might get appearances or cameos.

"Captain Marvel" is set to arrive on March 8, 2019, in theaters worldwide.
