'Battlefield 1' Nivelle Nights DLC walkthrough: Nivelle Nights map set in 1917 Chemin des Dames

EA Dice will introduce a new map, dubbed Nivelle Nights, to its first-person shooter video game "Battlefield 1" in the coming weeks.

The "Battlefield 1" map, Sinai Desert Battlefield

A first peak of the map is shared by Col. Squirrel on YouTube. Although the map is still being further developed, the video has already showcased a great deal of information on the map. Since the map is not yet final, the developers could still bring in major changes to Nivelle Nights.

Based on the walkthrough video, the battlefield is set on a chilling night in an eerie open field. From the teaser, it seems like trenches will play an important role in the battle.

According to reports, the Nivelle Nights will take gamers back to 1917 Chemin des Dames, where French and German armies dug trenches to protect themselves from spraying bullets. The forces fought over a contested area near the border. Like the historic WW1 battle, players of the game will fight like the said armies.

The game might be hard for those who wish to play snipers because the battle suggests more of a close combat scenario. For this style of gameplay, the best choice of weapon would be an assault firearm or a machine gun. With close-range battles, grenades might not always be a wise idea, unless players are able to create a significant distance between them and their opponents.

Nivelle Nights is different from previous maps such as the Sinai Desert map mainly because it provides players with a lot of opportunities and choices. Nivelle Nights is a premium map, which means only players who have access to the "Battlefield 1" Premium Pass will be able to enjoy the map.

Reports say that gamers, particularly those without the Premium Pass, are disappointed with DICE , and that they are expecting the studio to release free maps in the coming weeks. Nivelle Nights is not part of the upcoming game expansions.

More updates should arrive soon.
