Xbox One X players will be able to view ancient Egypt in its full splendor at 4K resolution, as a new gameplay video for "Assassin's Creed: Origins" for the upcoming console has been unveiled.

The video trailer, courtesy of Gamespot, shows the game's protagonist, Bayek atop the Pyramids of Giza, scouting the surrounding areas using his hawk friend. The gameplay takes place in the Tomb of Khufu area. Bayek, after "synchronizing" the locale with the in-game compass, slides with ease down the Great Pyramid. The video also showcases Bayek riding a camel while firing arrows at his enemies in pursuit, featuring a beautifully rendered desert landscape with clouds of dust and footsteps to match.

It is important to note that since the gameplay video is Xbox One X sample, it is rendered in a resolution of 3840×2160 or 4K. This native resolution, however, is only available for people who own a 4K-capable television (TV) to go along with the Xbox One X. Otherwise, players will have to deal with the game being rendered with supersampling, which is the upscaling of resolution to fit the increased amount of pixels in screen sizes lower than 4K. This means that the game will be rendered in 4K even if the player's TV is small, giving it a sharper image quality.

"Assassin's Creed: Origins" on the Xbox One X will also be significantly different from the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4) versions. Apart from the 4K resolution, the One X version will also have higher quality architectural models, vegetation, and rocks, which will all be displayed at longer draw distances. This will be most notable in grand cities like Memphis and Alexandria in the game.

This, however, is no indication that all other games for the One X will have the same enhancements, as they will vary depending on the graphical fidelity of the game and how taxing it will be on the system. Still, this version of "Assassin's Creed: Origins" for the One X goes to show what the upcoming console upgrade is capable of, being dubbed as the most powerful console yet.

"Assassin's Creed: Origins" for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC will be released on Oct. 27. The Xbox One X will be released on Nov. 7.
