Macbook Pro 2013: Mavericks OS X to launch with new laptop featuring Haswell, new display technology, and longer battery life

Apple is slated to host a media event to introduce its new line of iPads and refreshed Macbook Pro pre-installed with OS X Mavericks on October 22, 2013.

The external design of the Macbook Pro 2013 is not expected to change, but the internal components will receive a boost with the all new Intel Haswell processor which will significantly increase the machine's battery life.

A new report suggest that the internal components are not the only thing to be excited about for the upgraded Macbook Pros.

Apple is set to offer supreme display technology for its new Macbook Pro, according to latest reports.

CNET reports that David Hsieh, vice-president of DisplaySearch in China, said, "Based on supply chain research, we believe Apple is planning to revamp nearly all of the displays in its products over the next year. This would indicate that Apple, once again, intends to count on display technology for new product innovation. We can speculate about Apple's new products as follows."

There are already rumors that the new Macbook Pro will feature Sharp's IGZO display panel with a resolution of 3840x2160 that will also lead to longer battery life.

In conjunction with the Haswell processor, Sharp's IGZO display and new OS X Mavericks, the Macbook Pro's battery may very well last up to 12 hours without needing a recharge.

The Golden Master (GM) version of Apple's Mavericks operating system was launched on October 3, 2013. The GM version is the final version released to developers before the new operating system is made official to the general public.

Apple's iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 are rumored to launch at the October 22 event, now confirmed after Apple sent out a colorful invitation to media yesterday. Nonetheless, the next-gen iPads will come packed with retina displays and be offered in a new color – the popular gold color offered on the iPhone 5S which has sold out everywhere. The specs will be similar to that of the latest flagship phone. The tablets will pack a powerful A7 chip. the all new M7 chip, a motion co-processor that is also featured in the iPhone 5S, and a fingerprint sensor.
