Apple AirPod release date, specs, news: Apple to release wireless earbuds next week?

The wait for Apple's highly talked about wireless earbuds called the AirPods will soon be over, according to several speculations that came out online.

The costly wireless earbuds were launched by the Cupertino-based tech firm together with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus during the company's keynote event back in September. However, the company opted to push back the AirPods' release to a still-unspecified date.

However, The Next Web spotted a report from German blog Apfelpage which claimed that the much-awaited AirPods will be shipped beginning next week.

According to the blog site, a staff member of the European electronics and computer supplies reseller, Conrad, told one of their customers that Apple's new AirPods will be in stock beginning Nov. 17. Then, consumers can start purchasing the product by Nov. 18 or Nov. 19.

However, it could be possible that the Conrad staff member gave out a wrong information since the retailer's website claims that the wireless earbuds from Apple are expected to be shipped in stores in "about 7 weeks" time.

The Apple AirPods are expected to come out with several features, including several optical sensors, accelerometers, as well as antennas.

According to the company's website, the AirPods are very easy to use. With just a simple one-tap action, the wireless earbuds will be automatically activated and connected with an Apple device. It can also sense automatically that it is already positioned in the user's ears and when it is removed.

It can also make it easier for the Apple users to get in touch with Siri since they can simply double-tap either of the AirPod to activate the virtual assistant even without having to take out their Apple devices.

Apple has yet to confirm if the rumored release date is true, but the tech firm confirmed that the AirPods can be purchased for $159.
