The Samsung Galaxy S6 will finally receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Official Samsung website

Samsung just received the Android 7.0 rollout for the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ models, but the rollout will continue for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge devices.

Reports reveal that both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will soon get the Android 7.0 Nougat through the software versions numbered NRD90M.G920VVRS4DQD1 and NRD90M.G925VVRS4DQD1, respectively.

On the other hand, those in Canada will also get the new Android version. The Galaxy S6 will get the Android 7.0 build, while its bigger cousin, the Galaxy S6 Edge, will get the update's G925W8VLU5DQD1 version.

Those who will get the new Android 7.0 Nougat will enjoy the improvements that come with the latest Android model. These include fixed user interface, battery management page, multitasking features that come with a split screen, more efficient keyboard with language predictions, and improved emoji selections.

According to the mobile operating system's website, "Android Nougat opens up more ways for you to personalize your Android device. Decide how your data is used, the way you're notified, and what your display looks like."

Other popular Nougat features include the capacity to customize the quick settings icon that can be found in the pull-down menu, the inclusion of the data saver mode that can block several apps from releasing background data, save battery life, as well as possible data fees. It can also change the size of the text and icons, as well as the work mode toggles that can help turn a corporate work profile on or off.

The Android 7.0 Nougat update is also expected to come with the Google Assistant and Instant Apps features that are expected to be launched by Google sometime this fall.

Devices that have yet to receive the notifications regarding the over-the-air Android 7.0 Nougat update should expect to receive it from their respective network providers soon.
