Android 4.5 release date: Android 4.4.3 OS update for Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and HTC One Google Play Edition expected soon

Google is expected to officially release the latest Android 4.4.3 Kitkat update to users before it rolls out its Android 4.5 Lollipop mobile operating system later this year.

The new software roll-out will begin with Google's Nexus devices first – the Nexus 5 and 7, followed by the HTC One Google Play Edition.

According to Android Police, the next Android 4.4.3 update is primarily for bug fixes.

One particular bug fix will be the 'mm-qcamera-daemon' crash, which caused the Nexus 5 to experience a battery drain issue. Google identified the issue as stemming from the high CPU usage of the 'mm-qcamera-daemon' process.

Although the official update has not been released yet, there have many leaks purporting to be the new Android 4.4.3 updated software running on the Nexus 5.

Google's Android 4.4.2 KitKat was rolled out to users beginning November 2013.

Twitter user LlabTooFeR, a ROM developer and HTC insider, recently claimed that a new KTU84D build was in the works. Although a specific release date for the new build has not been released, he claimed in March that the update would be available in mid-April, according to GottaBeMobile.

Three dozen bug fixes are expected – improved camera focus, unstable data connections, fix for LED problems, VPN fix, and more.
