American Music Awards 2015 start time tonight: performers, presenters and list of AMA nominees

The best and the brightest in the music industry will be gathering at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles this weekend for the American Music Awards 2015. The ceremony, which will be held on Sunday, Nov. 22, will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez and will feature a lot of A-list performers as artists vie for awards in various categories. The event will begin at 8 p.m. ET and will be airing on ABC.

Presenting the awards with Lopez are Paula Abdul, "Pretty Little Liars" star Ashley Benson, Ciara, "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star Kylie Jenner, "Dancing with the Stars" judge Julianne Hough, "The Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus, Hailee Steinfeld, and Gigi Hadid among others.

As for the performers, it has been reported that Ariana Grande will be singing during the awards show. Justin Bieber is also set to perform, and fans can expect the singer to bring the hits from his new album "Purpose," such as the number one track "What Do You Mean" and "Sorry." Gwen Stefani will also be taking a turn on the stage, as well as 5 Seconds of Summer, Coldplay and The Weeknd. As a tribute to the Star Wars franchise, acapella group Pentatonix will be performing a Star Wars themed song backed by a full symphony orchestra.

In light of recent events, it has been confirmed that Celine Dion will pay tribute to the city of Paris on Sunday night and will be performing her own rendition of Edith Piaf's "Hymne a L'Amour" in French to pay her respects to those affected by the attacks in Paris.

For the nominees, Taylor Swift has bagged seven nominations including Artist of the Year, while Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd each picked up five in different categories.
