Last week on "American Horror Story," it was revealed how the Countess (Lady Gaga) achieved immortality, while John Lowe (Wes Bentley) had himself committed to a mental-health facility that he suspects is housing the 10 Commandments Killer.

In the episode titled "Flicker," it was seen in a flashback that the Countess used to be a Hollywood ingénue back in 1925. She used to spend much of her time with Valentino and Natacha Rambova, but ultimately she ended up mingling with other people.

At one point, she learned that Valentino had died, and this sends her into mourning, not knowing that the great German filmmaker, F.W. Murnau, has turned the matinee idol into a vampire. The Countess married wealthy hotelier James March (Evan Peters), but when Valentino and Natacha returned as vampires, the Countess wanted to be an immortal and run away with them. However, James learned about their plans and he sealed the three of them behind a steel wall in his hotel.

Believing that the 10 Commandments Killer is locked up at the West Los Angeles health center, John had himself committed there to find the killer while he seeks help for his own issues. There, he encountered a young girl named Wren, who has been helping the killer and even slaying his victims for him, and the girl decided to help John look for the killer. However, once outside, she ran into traffic and was killed by a truck.

Now that Wren is gone, has the detective lost his link to the killer, and will John ever find the murderer? In the next episode titled "The Ten Commandments Killer," it looks like the detective will finally have a breakthrough in his investigation as he closes in on the murderer. Meanwhile, Sally's (Sarah Paulson) arrangement with March is revealed.

In the promo for the Dec. 2 episode, Sally tells March that they have unfinished business together, and March shouts, "He's not yours!" Later, John is seen struggling as he stands on top of a toilet and is attempting to hang himself. March and John are seen looking for the killer in a dark place, and the Countess gleefully tells the hotelier that it gives her so much joy to see him suffer.

John and Sally are seen walking together down the hotel's hallway, and Sally says, "I'm telling you, there are answers on the other side of this door."

"American Horror Story" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX.
